LaPrairie Works Inc.is a diversified and growing transportation specialist. We come with over 35 years of operating experience in Western Canada, and our core business areas include highway maintenance, on and off highway hauling, oilfield services, mine contracting, and site services.

We are looking to hire an experiencedHeavy-Duty Mechanicto inspect, service, and maintain our fleet of heavy-duty on road and off-road equipment inHigh Level, Alberta.Apprentices are encouraged to apply.

To ensure success as aHeavy-Duty Mechanic, you should have proven experience working on off-road and on road equipment, be physically fit, and be able to troubleshoot issues at hand. Ultimately, a top-notch Heavy Duty Mechanic can repair and service even the biggest machinery with expert care.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment, in a fleet environment, for proper performance
  • Diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment
  • Adjust equipment and replacing faulty parts
  • Repair damaged equipment parts
  • Clean, lubricate, and conduct routine services on heavy-duty and automotive vehicles
  • Repair and service machine attachments
  • Perform major repair work when necessary
  • Consult with other Mechanics and Supervisor when needed
  • Report damaged or faulty equipment to management
  • Actively participate in the compliance of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance System
  • Perform other duties as required

Desired skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Apprenticeship Documentation
  • Proven work experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
  • Understanding of computer testing technologies
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic & electrical systems, and construction equipment
  • Must have a Class 5 drivers license at minimum
  • CVIP license preferred
  • Ability to work after-hours if required
  • Good communication skills
