Job description

Our client is a leading company specializing in the fabrication of pressure piping, power piping, and structural steel. We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator with experience in plate rolling, forming, and operating various CNC equipment to join their team in Acheson, AB.

  • Salary : Competitive base wage of $37.17 / hour with potential for a $4.00 / hour premium based on qualifications.

What You'll Do :

  • Operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, and milling.
  • Read blueprints and mechanical drawings to understand project specifications.
  • Input computer commands to ensure machines perform accurate functions.
  • Load raw materials and parts into CNC machines.
  • Conduct test runs to confirm outputs meet required specifications.
  • Set machines for full production cycles to fabricate multiple parts.
  • Supervise machine operations, make adjustments as needed, and oversee operators.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Perform daily maintenance checks to guarantee machine functionality.
  • Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe CNC shop environment.
  • What We're Looking For :

  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience specifically in plate rolling and forming. This is a non-negotiable requirement for the role.
  • Experience operating CNC machinery and precision tools with a deep understanding of mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with Brake and Shear Press, Water Jet Table, and Peddinghaus Beam Line is mandatory.
  • Experience with Weld Overlay equipment is an asset.
  • Proficient in operating CNC machinery, tooling, and precision measurement tools.
  • Ability to read mechanical documents and drawings.
  • Basic computer programming and CAD / CAM knowledge.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, good math skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, unionized environment, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
