The Role
This mandate is ideal for a highly skilled and detail-oriented finance professional with a strong foundation in treasury management, tax compliance, and government incentive programs .
Reporting to the CFO, the Manager, Treasury, Tax and Government Programs will oversee key financial functions, including cash management, tax strategy, and the administration of government grants and credits, as an individual contributor. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with external advisors and cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment across its operations, while contributing to the company’s overall financial effectiveness and growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Treasury
- Manage daily cash flow and liquidity across operations.
- Oversee banking relationships and ensure optimal banking structures.
- Monitor and forecast cash requirements and funding needs.
- Support financing activities and covenant compliance.
Tax
Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate tax filings (corporate, sales / use, property, etc.)Assist in developing and implementing tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.Ensure compliance with federal, provincial / state, and local tax regulations.Support tax audits and inquiries.Government Programs
Identify and evaluate eligibility for federal, provincial, and state-level government incentive programs.Lead the application and reporting processes for grants, subsidies, and tax credits.Maintain relationships with government agencies and external consultants.Track and report on program utilization and financial impact.The Ideal Candidate
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in treasury, tax, or related financial roles.Strong understanding of Canadian and U.S. tax regulations and government funding programs.Proven experience collaborating with external advisors and internal stakeholders.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel .Seniority level
