A well-established construction and heavy equipment operation in the Rockland, ON area is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join its Heavy Duty Division. The position is a mix of shop-based and local field work. The successful candidate will play a key role in keeping equipment operating safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
Schedule & Work-Life Balance
- Day Shift, 7:00 AM 5:00 PM (Monday to Friday). Very rare weekend work (~1%)
- 4446 hours per week
- Overtime paid after 44 hours
Compensation & Benefits
- $38.00 - $45.00/hour to start.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment - excavators, articulated dump trucks (2530 ton), dozers, loaders, backhoes, crushers, screeners, conveyors, rollers and compactors.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex issues
- Follow all safety protocols and industry standards
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic (construction, fleet, dealership, or industrial background preferred)
- Heavy Equipment Mechanic license not required
- Strong mechanical aptitude with diesel-powered equipment
- Experience with Caterpillar and/or John Deere equipment is an asset
