MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Software Engineering Manager for a permanent role with a client of ours located in Burnaby.
Responsibilities
Provide technical direction, mentorship, and career development to a team of software engineers.
Write high-quality, testable, and maintainable code in languages such as APEX / SOQL, Java, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Conduct code reviews and offer constructive feedback to ensure high standards of code quality.
Collaborate with Product Management to translate business requirements into technical deliverables and accurate effort estimates.
Oversee Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
Ensure product quality, reliability, and performance in production environments.
Stay current with Salesforce platform enhancements, releases, and ecosystem technologies; identify opportunities to enhance business value through innovation.
Manage on-call rotation and provide leadership during critical production incidents.
Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and handle career development and HR-related processes.
Requirements
5+ years of software development experience across multiple environments, with a strong focus on Salesforce.
3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role guiding engineering teams.
3+ years of experience working in an Agile software development environment.
1+ year of direct people management experience.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
A passion for mentoring others and driving continuous improvement.
