What you’ll do :
Reporting to the Food Store Manager, the Deli Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Deli department including sales, gross margin, and expense control, developing and ensuring compliance with the budget, maintaining department standards, ordering and inventory control, human resources, asset protection, customer service, administrative duties, and department production and merchandising.
- Present a neat, clean, and well-merchandised department.
- Provide leadership and direction in developing and achieving financial results and budget objectives in the areas of sales, margins, expenses, and inventory.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes a strong culture of engagement within the department.
- Lead Talent Development and Performance Management for the Deli department team. Guide direct reports to set challenging and realistic goals for themselves on an annual basis, aligning with the Performance Management process.
- Provide leadership and direction to employees in accordance with company policies, procedures, programs, merchandising standards, and overall expectations.
- Ensure standards of the department’s presentation and operations are met, including cleanliness and sanitation, food safety and food handling standards, inventory control, rotation, ordering, and delivery of customer service.
- Recruit, onboard, orientate, and train Team Members.
- Maintain inventory controls, image, and fixed assets, and perform administrative responsibilities.
- Be a mentor and coach to team members and provide exemplary customer service to all our customers.

Who you are :
You have 3-5 years of related experience in a retail environment with 1 year of Supervisory or Leadership experience; preference will be given to those with Deli experience. You demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to work well within multi-generational teams. Applicants should be self-reliant, goal-oriented, and able to set and adjust priorities and schedules for themselves and their team.
High School diploma or equivalent preferredMust be capable of operating tools / equipment required for the preparation, merchandising, and sale of Deli products.
