Job Summary

Create, staff and maintain recreation programs to service the diverse needs of the community. Provide resolution to any customer complaints and concerns effectively and timely. Ensure program and safety standards are maintained at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Supervisor, Community Programs, the Recreation Programmer will plan, develop and implement various programs, (i.e. “learn to” recreation sports programs, preschool programs, youth programs, camps, drop-in programs).
• Provide customer service, resolving issues, and communicating new programs / changes / cancellations.
• Provide functional guidance to part‑time staff and volunteers, coordinating staff and volunteer orientation, preparing materials for all programs and staff training, etc.
• Produce in‑house marketing materials using various software programs.
• Ensure a coordinated approach of service delivery, space utilization and maximize cross‑over programming.
• Incorporate and model the HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development in program delivery where appropriate.
• Incorporate and model the principles of Physical Literacy in program delivery where appropriate.
• Ensure compliance of existing City Recreation & Culture Division Standard Operating Procedures and Corporate Policies.
• Other duties as required.

Hourly Rate / Salary : $69,080.00 - $92,107.00

Grade : D

Hours of Work : 35 hours per week
