Museum Attendant – Summer Student
Positions : 2 (pending grant approval)
Term of Employment : Full-Time, Summer Term (April 27, 2026 – August 21, 2026)
Rate of Pay : $18.05 per hour (Student Wage Band; subject to CUPE 1015 Agreement)
Current Location : Lloydminster Museum & Archives (LMA) & Weaver Heritage Park
Duties
- Assist with reception duties
- Process admissions, provide customer service, and respond to inquiries
- Lead interpretive tours of the galleries and outdoor displays
- Assist with summer youth programming at the museum
- Assist with the organization, cataloguing, and storage of the Museum’s heritage collection
- Assist in leading education programs for school groups
- Maintain the grounds at Weaver Park, such as string trimming, gardening, weeding, and garbage removal
- Assist in supporting public events
- Participate in the City of Lloydminster’s Safety Management System
- Other related duties from time to time as required
Schedule
This position will work days, evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
Must be creative, outgoing, and comfortable working with small groups of children in a hands‑on learning settingExcellent written and verbal communication skills are requiredMust be able to effectively and tactfully deal with the publicMust be comfortable handling cash, reconciling a cash till, and conducting daily depositsAn interest in history is considered an assetMust be able to work outdoors in inclement weather and in unheated historical buildings, and perform manual duties such as gardening, painting, string trimming, moving equipment, and operating a City of Lloydminster fleet vehicleOffer Conditions
Offer will be contingent upon receiving a satisfactory criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector check prior to employment.
