Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated interns with experience in database concepts and cloud platforms. In this role, interns will receive training in advanced database tasks and cloud migration techniques, gaining valuable experience with tools like AWS SCT, DMS, and Ora2Pg. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance your skills in Oracle SQL and PL / SQL through real-world projects.
  • Engage in PostgreSQL database development, administration activities, including configurations, tuning, and performance monitoring.
  • Assist with day-to-day DBA tasks such as backups, recovery, and routine database maintenance.
  • Gain hands-on training in AWS Cloud Services, focusing on database and cloud migration aspects.
  • Work with AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT) and AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) for database migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL.
  • Learn to utilize Ora2Pg or any other tools for migrating and converting Oracle databases to PostgreSQL.
  • Work in cloud migration and modernization projects, gaining exposure to advanced data transformation and modernization practices.
  • Collaborate on migration projects involving on-premises and cloud database systems, with exposure to CDC (Change Data Capture) and minimizing migration downtime.
  • Contribute to a dynamic team environment by demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving and learning.

Prerequisites

To qualify for this internship, candidates should meet the following criteria :

  • Proficient in writing and understanding Oracle SQL queries, procedures, and PL / SQL
  • Familiarity with cloud concepts and platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) and an understanding of basic cloud architecture and services
  • Solid understanding of database concepts, including relational databases, schema design, indexing, and data integrity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas and work effectively within a team
  • Good analytical skills for data interpretation and problem analysis
  • Demonstrated capacity to approach challenges methodically and find innovative solutions
  • Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and the general structure of the tech industry
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools, techniques, and concepts, especially in a high-paced, dynamic setting
  • Certification in any cloud technology is preferred
