Team Overview

Proto is accelerating the world's transition to an open economy with products that increase access and independence for everyone. We're building hardware and software that will help decentralize bitcoin mining and enable new and innovative use cases for bitcoin mining. As an ASIC library engineer, you will work closely with other digital designers and physical designers to develop the next generation of mining ASIC. In particular, the challenges of accurate library production and verification are critical parts of this role.

Main responsibilities will include :

  • Library characterization
  • Library verification and QA

You Have :

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with at least 5 years of industry experience
  • Very familiar with the liberty file format
  • Expert knowledge using Liberate / Primelib
  • Library QA experience using Crosscheck
  • Experience with simulators (e.g. Spectre / Hspice / Primesim)
  • Proficient with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, TCL, Makefile.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter and able to independently drive tasks to completion
  • Demonstrates the ability to debug issues and quickly identify viable solutions
  • Even better if you have :

  • MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Experience with high sigma monte carlo simulations
  • Experience with Synopsys library compiler / manager
  • Experience in 3nm or below

Canada locations are categorized into one of two zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

    Zone A : $138,500 — $207,700 CAD

    Zone B : $133,700 — $200,500 CAD
