Assistant Controller

At SMS Equipment, our Assistant Controller is responsible for the accuracy of the Company’s financial records and ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting standards. The Assistant Controller is responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the month end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, audit preparation and directing the work of the accounting staff. This role provides leadership and guidance to 4 direct reports, including the Accounts Payable team.

Location : Corporate Office in Acheson, AB

Salary : Up to $120,000 per year

Work arrangement : Hybrid – work in office Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

What you bring :

The successful candidate will possess an Undergraduate Business Degree with an Accounting Designation (CPA) paired with a minimum of 7 years experience in controllership and / or auditing, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience . Additional requirements include :
