POSITION SUMMARY

An Integration Consultant is a technology professional focused on consulting, designing and implementing client integration solutions consistent with industry best practices, ensuring solutions are scalable, provide high availability, and above average performance. The Integration Consultant also participates in consulting on the construction, testing and support of ADP Canada integration solutions and projects, acting as a Technology Leader, Integration Subject Matter Expert, Mentor, and Developer (as applicable) throughout the process.

This role supports implementation, service and sales (Canada and Cross Border) along with ADP clients nationally for integration activities providing Consulting, Scope effort / cost estimation and Delivery on proposed solutions.

The Integration Consultant is accountable for overall integration project results (meeting commitments on cost, functionality, timelines, and quality) and ensuring that actions, deliverables, solutions and / or advice are in line with established business objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides professional consulting services to client on best practices, technical requirements and recommended activities for successful implementation of integration and Application Programming Interface (API) solutions.
  • Provide expertise as an API and Integration Subject Matter Expert (SME) to Clients & ADP internal teams
  • Develop integration technical specifications and design documents
  • Engineer and recommend potential solutions for integration requirement.
  • Conduct detailed analysis with client to confirm architectural feasibility and approach for integration solution.
  • Conduct walk-thru of interface strategy with management, project teams and client to ensure compliance and completeness.
  • Design, document and present integration architecture, functional and technical specifications to client for client signoff.
  • Participate in client demo of integration solution as required by preparing demo material and / or presenting.
  • Perform review of client’s current integration strategy and provide recommendations for improvement based on industry best practices.
  • Plan, manage and Coordinate project activities with client and ADP resources to achieve desired results.
  • Coordinate with vendors and external consultants when necessary to achieve desired results.
  • Lead and participate in development, configuration, testing, rollout and support activities for integration solution by acting as a Technology Leader, Subject Matter Expert, Project Manager and / or Development Resource (as applicable)
  • Research new technologies, applications and solutions for integration, participate in integration product evaluations, and make recommendations on how they can be best deployed to Professional Services & ADP’s benefit.
  • Conduct Proof-of-Concept activities to test new technologies or integration architectural designs for acceptable functionality, scalability, availability and performance results.
  • Maintain a thorough and up to-date understanding of all ADP product offerings and related functional capabilities and processing workflows.
  • Research and maintain thorough and up-to-date knowledge of integration points with external vendor products requiring integration with ADP products. Act as the SME for knowledge on integration strategy with external vendor products.
  • Research and define best practices and standards for integration solutions.
  • Provide product feedback and recommendations to product management based on client experience in integration projects.

COMPETENCIES

Education :

Post-Secondary Degree / Diploma in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent education and experience

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills :

Required :

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in managing and / or consulting on technical solutions
  • Minimum 4-5 years experience with a proven proficiency in design and / or development of integration solutions preferably with Payroll / HR systems
  • Expert level knowledge of the programming, database, testing & deployment tools, techniques, codes and languages applicable to the products or systems with which they work
  • Expert level knowledge of application analysis and design methodologies, including database concepts
  • Strong knowledge of technology trends, development tools and software development life cycle
  • Strong knowledge of Project Management techniques
  • Advanced presentation, written and oral communication skills
  • Very Strong analytical skills to interpret and develop functional and technical specifications on an individual basis and in collaboration with other departments
  • Strong facilitation skills with ability to close issues by acting as a mediator and supporting negotiations leading to win-win resolutions.
  • Strong Impact & Influence skills with ability to gain the respect of peers, to influence without authority, and to build strong positive relationships with project team members and colleagues.
  • Detail oriented – ability to drill down to the finest detail to ensure quality of solutions and code.
  • Advanced knowledge of all phases of software implementation including management, business process re-engineering, data conversion, technical configuration, product integration and education
  • Specific and advanced knowledge of the following environments is required :

  • OS – All windows operating systems
  • Databases - SQL Server, Oracle
  • Experience in programming languages, C,C++,VB,C#
  • Understanding of .NET MVC server and SOLID development principles
  • Understanding of MSSQL data management
  • Experience building user interfaces web applications
  • Experience in Web services
  • Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
  • Understanding of web hosting and basic server administration
  • Preferred :

  • Microsoft Certification in related discipline
  • Advanced Knowledge of ADP Product architecture front-end / back-end and programming standards (database and file structures, application program interfaces, real time and batch processing methodologies) is considered an asset
  • Previous experience building integrations with ERP Products SAP, People Soft, Oracle, JD Edwards is considered an asset
