This opportunity offers all that and so much more!Our team is growing, and we are thrilled to announce a new opening for a Resource Allocation Specialist in the People & Culture team. This role focuses on understanding lawyer resource requirements and allocating capabilities accordingly throughout the firm by utilizing a Work Allocation System. This role will assess the skills, abilities, and availability of our legal professionals to ensure optimal legal service delivery, while also supporting their career development. This role is a full-time permanent position in our Halifax office.As a Resource Allocation Specialist, you will be responsible for : Develop and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of lawyer skill sets across all offices and practice areas and establish a consultable repository;Collaborate with lawyers to understand client needs and the broader business requirements, enabling effective resourcing decisions;Acquire an understanding of individual skills, development needs, experiences, and personal / professional aspirations, and utilize this knowledge in making resourcing decisions;Monitor and forecast individual activity by tracking data and comparing it to actual time records, identifying discrepancies, and addressing them with individuals as needed, escalating issues when appropriate;Collect and analyze data related to utilization, performance metrics, and outcomes;Engage in planning for large staffing projects, identify supporting technology / tools, and continuously seek improvement and innovation; and,Subject matter expert on work allocation and resources including systems and related processes.The successful candidate will possess the following skill set : Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field;Minimum two (2) to five (5) years' experience in resource allocation or operations within a law firm or professional services environment;Tech savvy, including data analytics;Experience working with resource management / manpower planning software would be advantageous;Project management experience (PMP) would be considered an asset; and,Comfortable launching a new role and service, drawing on best practices, and operating without an existing structure.Our team members have access to : Defined-benefit pension plan;Firm-paid health and dental benefits;Health spending account;Personal spending account (wellness);Time for you : Including vacation, personal, and sick days.Balancing life : Work from home / Flex work options available for many team members.Our Team - we can't say enough about our people!
