DUTIES
Develop and deliver a holistic Indigenous healing and wellness program for Indigenous students at the St. John’s campus.Provide virtual and in‑person holistic practices, wellness interventions, and case management as needed.Facilitate educational sessions related to holistic wellness and awareness for Indigenous students on campus.Book appointments with students and navigate referrals within the university and community‑based resources for holistic health needs.Utilize a healthy campus and community model, working with various stakeholders and community agencies to identify and respond to students’ wellness needs.Maintain professional knowledge and skills pertinent to case management, holistic health and wellness navigation, and other related duties and mediations as required by the ISRC.QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 3 years of experience in wellness, advising, or navigation roles with a focus on holistic health.Completion of a Master’s of Counselling Psychology, Master’s of Social Work, or Master’s of Nursing; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.Knowledge of the holistic needs and wellness of individuals, families, and communities, particularly Indigenous populations.Experience working with diverse populations, especially Indigenous populations, and knowledge of Indigenous cultures and histories in Newfoundland and Labrador.Experience in the development and delivery of wellness programming, wellness counselling, crisis and suicide intervention, mental health first aid training, and e‑mental health online programming.Demonstrated experience working in an environment with an accessibility and inclusion lens and managing complex student issues related to equity, accessibility, mental health, and intercultural diversity.Experience working with and / or within Indigenous communities and Indigenous student populations is an asset.SALARY
$71,050 – $87,763 per annum (Management and Professional). An upscale hiring step (Step 16) has been applied to this position.
