Job descriptionPosition: Editorial CoordinatorLocation: Remote - OttawaJob Type: Permanent, Full-Time Our client, a reputable organization in the publishing industry, is seeking an Editorial Support Specialist to join their team. This role plays a vital part in coordinating the editorial workflow, supporting publication processes, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency across multiple editorial and administrative functions.Key Responsibilities:Editorial Operations- Oversee the submission process for new and revised manuscripts using ScholarOne.- Act as a liaison between editors, reviewers, and authors to maintain smooth communication and workflow.- Ensure all manuscript files, documentation, and forms are complete and properly archived.- Prepare and coordinate accepted journals throughout the publication cycle.- Provide technical and administrative support within ScholarOne as needed.- Format, copyedit, and proofread non-scientific content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency.- Manage special sections and columns, coordinating with editors and contributors to meet deadlines.Administrative Tasks:- Maintain and update journal webpages and editorial documentation.- Assist with preparing author guidelines and editorial templates.- Manage reviewer lists, track statistics, and maintain databases and spreadsheets.- Prepare invoices related to manuscripts, subscriptions, and editorial services.Subscription Management:- Serve as the main contact for subscription databases and online hosting platforms.- Coordinate subscription renewals and manage relationships with subscribers and agencies.- Update and maintain subscription rates and renewal communications annually.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.- Proven experience in editorial coordination or publishing operations.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer literacy.- Hands-on experience with ScholarOne (required).- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered a strong asset.Please send your resume in Word format to Chloe Fleurant at chloe.fleurant@quantum.ca.REFER A PERM HIRE AND EARN UP TO $1,000!
