Bilingual Art Director/Designer (bilingual)
We are looking for an Art Director / Designer with strong visual storytelling abilities who are comfortable weaving product and lifestyle together in entertaining and authentic ways.
You have a strong understanding of the Canadian French market and culture with experience crafting original French creative work, as well as adapting English creative work in order to best appeal to French speakers.
You see things differently and love making others do the same. You work and thrive in an open and collaborative team where ideas are bounced around and everyone’s thoughts are heard.
You can recognize the potential in ideas and insights and know how to translate them into compelling and clever visuals that speak to people.
You have experience in TV, digital video, social and web and are fully versed in Creative Suite, PowerPoint and Keynote.

In this role, you will need...
- To be fluently bilingual (French / English) with strong written French language skills including grammar and spelling
- A passion for creative ideas, and the tact and ability to see them through to final production
- To be an excellent communicator and collaborator
- Knowledge of the automotive industry an asset but not mandatory
- Knowledge of current marketing and advertising trends
- To concepts and collaborate with creative teams, including other art directors, copywriters and designers
- To create visually stunning art including layout, typography and photography
- To maintain our commitment to changing consumer behaviour through disruptive ideas at all contact points.
- To ensure creative concepts and tactics are on the brand and strategically sound
- To ensure quality of deliverables and oversee work throughout the production process
- Ensure creative files are prepped properly for production (digital, print and video)
- Work with the Creative Director in all areas of creative development
- Present work to clients with solid rationale and support
- Build presentation decks and visual mock-ups
- Participate in agency-client and new business activity as required
You have...
- 1 3 years of art direction / design experience in a creative agency or similar environment
- Experience working on retail, in-store or shopper marketing (automotive considered an asset)
- A College / university diploma in art direction, design or advertising
- A demonstrated ability to expand thinking to integrated channels
- Experience working on large brands
- Excellent verbal and written French / English communication skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign) Keynote, MS Office (Word & PowerPoint)
- Advanced knowledge of typography, layout and colour theory
- Strong conceptual and design skills brand guidelines, logos, poster design and content storytelling
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, juggle multiple projects and manage time effectively
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- An online portfolio showcasing examples of your best work and thinking
