As a counsellor in social reintegration, you help residents continue their sobriety programs in line with their life goals. Your primary role is to support residents in maintaining the skills they need to achieve sobriety and lead fulfilling lives both socially and professionally.
Conduct individual follow-ups: Meet with the resident in their daily life.
Facilitate support groups for residents: Lead workshops on various topics related to their goals.
Define reintegration goals with residents: Work with the resident to set reasonable and achievable objectives aimed at attaining a positive (or decent) living condition.
Support residents in maintaining sobriety: Encourage residents in their transformation and highlight the many benefits of this new life.
Manage resident files according to standards and confidentiality: Open and close files, record observations and progress, write reports, and assess needs.
Refer residents to more specialized services: Guide residents toward external resources that address specific needs related to their condition.
Participate in team meetings: Attend internal or inter-center team meetings.
Accompany residents outside the facility: Visits, appointments, and any other activities related to social life.
Ensure resident safety: Inspect the premises and monitor security cameras.
Other related tasks: Perform additional duties as requested by the immediate supervisor.
College degree (DEC) in a related field or university degree in addiction (or in the currently in progress)
Experience in a similar position
Relevant experience working with clients struggling with addiction, in a community setting or therapeutic community
Experience in intervention and crisis management
Bilingual French and English, spoken and written
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team
Job Type: permanent, full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Schedule: day and evening shift (rotation), week and weekend
Salary: to be discussed according to experience
