partner staffing on behalf of our Client is seeking an dynamic  Intermediate Environmental Report Reviewer located in Fort St. John who will be responsible for conducting technical reviews and sign-offs on environmental reports, ensuring compliance with provincial and federal regulations. This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams to support remediation, reclamation, and regulatory processes, while providing mentorship to junior staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental regulations in British Columbia and experience in the oil and gas or other resource sectors.

Requirements

  • Conduct detailed technical reviews of environmental reports, including Stage 1 & 2 PSI’s, remediation, spill reports, and reclamation inspections.
  • Ensure reports comply with relevant BC environmental regulations, such as the Environmental Management Act and Contaminated Sites Regulation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (remediation, compliance, reclamation) to assess project data, recommend regulatory pathways, and guide sites toward closure.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory variance requests as required.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of current provincial and federal legislation, industry standards, and regulatory updates.
  • Foster relationships with regulatory bodies (e.g., BC Energy Regulator) and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff, assisting them with project work and professional development.
  • Stay informed on best practices in environmental report writing and site-specific remediation strategies.

Qualifications :

  • 3-5 years of experience in environmental consulting, remediation, or reclamation.
  • Strong knowledge of BC’s environmental regulations and standards, with experience in Alberta or Saskatchewan as an asset
  • Degree or diploma in environmental science, ecology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience reviewing technical environmental reports, including those related to contamination, reclamation, and spill response.
  • Familiarity with Site Remediation and Reclamation Manual and Ecologically Suitable Species Guideline.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management systems.
  • Professional membership or certification (e.g., BC R.P.Bio or P.Ag) is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and within teams, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
