Mac-Weld Machining Ltd. is seeking a Health & Safety / H.R. Assistant to take on the task of sharing our vision locally and globally.
This is a contract position to cover a maternity leave.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate training for employee and maintain training records and tracking
- Assist with review, creation, and editing of policy and procedure for HR and HSE
- Complete and / or assist with HR and HSE Investigations and Inspections as needed
- Record and distribute minutes of JH&SC meetings
- Be familiar Mac-Weld’s policies, procedures, legislation, and safety rules
- Maintain employee and employer confidentiality
- Administer the onboarding of new hires and off-boarding of departing employees
- Provide support to the HR Manager with full cycle recruitment
- Provide general support to employees and management as needed
- Carry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, scanning etc
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Diploma or graduate certificate in Humana Resources
- 1-3 years of Human Resources and Health & Safety required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with ADP WFN would be an asset
- Experience with ISO 9001 : 2015 would be an asset
- Relevant knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code, Ontario Labour Laws, OHS Legislation
This is a part time position working 24 hours / week (3 Days a week) in our Sarnia facility.
Salary : Starting at $20.00 / hour
