REPORTS TO : Director of Development Engineering LOCATION : Initial Placement - Paris Customer Service Office General Purpose : Assist the Development Engineering Division with engineering review of development applications (i.e. subdivisions, severances, zoning amendments, minor variances) with respect to civil infrastructure, lot grading review, and administration of Site Alteration By-law and site inspections. Responsibilities / Duties : Perform lot grading reviews, including site inspections. Assist with the administration of the Site Alteration By-law, including site inspections. Assist with the engineering review of development applications, including site visits. Maintain good customer service with impacted residents, businesses, etc. Assist with digital filing of documents. Knowledge / Skills Required : A basic understanding of civil engineering (i.e. storm, sanitary, water, roads, grading, etc.). Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe W Pro, MS Access, ArcPro Ability to undertake extended periods at a computer. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain clear, accurate records of work undertaken. Understanding of municipal infrastructure systems will be considered an asset. Ability to organize work and resources. Dedicated to a high degree of professionalism. Valid Driver's Licence (G or G2) and access to a vehicle is required. Acceptable driver's abstract required. Ability to wear all prescribed PPE (e.g. CSA approved hard hat and safety boots) and demonstrate safety practices in accordance with applicable legislation and internal policies Steel-toed work boots are required (CSA approved) at your own expense. Education : College enrollment in a Civil Engineering Technology or Civil Engineering Technician program.
