THE ROLE

Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Finance will be responsible for leading corporate accounting, external financial reporting under IFRS, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A). This role will oversee core accounting functions, ensure timely and accurate public company reporting, and provide financial insight to support strategic and operational decision-making.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on finance leader who is comfortable operating in a public company environment, partnering with senior leadership, and mentoring a high-performing finance team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
- Oversee general ledger, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial controls
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and best practices
- Oversee the preparation and review of external financial statements in accordance with IFRS
- Lead quarterly and annual public company reporting, including MD&A and supporting schedules
- Act as a key point of contact for external auditors and manage the year-end audit process
- Monitor and implement new accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
- Provide variance analysis, financial modeling, and performance insights to senior leadership
- Partner with business leaders to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and operational improvements
- Lead, mentor, and develop the corporate accounting and FP&A teams
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration
- Support talent development, succession planning, and performance management
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and data quality
- Support financial systems, reporting tools, and automation initiatives
- Contribute to special projects, including M&A, system implementations, or organizational growth initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
CPA designation required10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership rolesStrong experience in a publicly listed company environment and external financial reporting (IFRS)Proven experience overseeing FP&A, budgeting, and forecastingBackground in audit (Big 4 or mid-tier) is an assetAdvanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP systems requiredStrong technical accounting and financial reporting expertiseStrategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsHands-on leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and detailed levelsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesWhy Join?
