Job description

Senior Data Analyst

Location : Montreal, Quebec, Canada_Hybrid

Duration : 12+months

Key Responsibilities :

  • Analyze data sets to determine data gaps and work with cross functional teams to bridge the gap
  • Liaise with the business analysis team to understand the data requirements
  • Support the team with data analysis, such as data source discovery, data usage viability and data sourcing
  • Coordinate data sourcing with upstream data teams
  • Partner with team on testing with data verification, completeness, and data quality checks.
  • Participate in data driven initiatives, such as data linage, data quality checks, data migration

Qualifications - External

Skills Required :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in global organizations as a Data Analyst.
  • Proficiency in Data Analysis, with working experience in SQL and relational databases
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; as well as work in an international team setting.
  • Have strong reasoning skills, logical deduction and apply to data analysis
  • Collaborate effectively across a variety of IT and Business groups, across regions and roles.
  • Present and be able to tell a story with the data analysis / reporting
  • Self-motivated individual and creative thinker who will take ownership of tasks assigned.
  • Ability to problem solve and have creative solutions in challenging environments
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high energy, demanding and team-orientated environment
  • Good customer service skills. Ability to deal with difficult situations gracefully.
  • SQL querying building, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    • Skills Desired :

  • Experience working in medium to large-scale development projects.
  • Knowledge of trades data, positions data, reference data.
  • Experience in trade lifecycles and asset classes, Equity, Fixed Income, Options, Futures
  • Understanding of Risk / Compliance surveillance platforms (Actimize, MANTAS, Sungard) and their models, Wash trades, Marking the Open / Close, Spoofing, Insider Trading, etc.
