Description

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for ensuring payrolls are processed accuately and that all monthly accounting and remittances are complete by deadlines.

This will be an on-site role in Mississauga, ON .

WHEN YOU JOIN US, YOU WILL

  • Review hourly and salary payrolls for accuracy prior to finalizing. Ensure correcting entries are made and payroll is submitted accurately and on time.
  • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality relative to personal data, compensation data, and employee benefits information.
  • Ensures integrity, consistency, and reliability with regards to information entered in the Workday payroll system.
  • Ensures timely and accurate preparation of payment requests for Manulife Benefit Premiums, WISB Premiums, EHT, Other payroll-related payments, and Union Dues, as required.
  • Assists Accounting with the preparation of payroll accrual entries for month-end.
  • Generates various management KPI reports related to payroll processing efficiency.
  • Balances CRA / RQ / EHT tax accounts monthly and investigates differences.
  • Supports Workday Payroll functionality and reports / escalates issues to Workday Team as required.
  • Investigate any / all payroll issues and promptly assign and / or resolve internal and external inquiries.
  • Supports all internal and external audit requirements.
  • Assists Payroll Specialists with year-end reporting, balancing, and data requests.
  • Uses knowledge of various government(s) payroll legislation, Collective Bargaining Agreements, and Company Policies to ensure payroll is prepared in compliance with all applicable policies / laws.
  • OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • 5+ years’ experience in an automated payroll environment.
  • 3+ years in a Supervisor or Team Lead role.
  • Fully Bilingual (French & English).
  • PLP Payroll Designation through the Canadian Payroll Association is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation in all provinces.
  • Knowledge of ADP and Workday Payroll.
  • Experience with fully integrated Workday applications.
  • Knowledge of government legislation / regulations and benefit administration practices.
