Were looking for an experienced Business Development Representative to lead business development efforts across our New Construction and Re-Roofing divisions.TheBusiness Development Representative (BDR)is responsible foridentifyingand generating new business opportunities within the commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. This role focuses on proactively building a qualified pipeline of leads for new construction and re-roofing projects by engaging with general contractors, consultants, developers, and property owners. The BDR is often the first point of contact and plays a critical roleinpositioning the company as a partner of choice for upcoming project opportunities.
What Youll Do
- Conduct outbound prospecting via phone, email, in-person visits, and networking to generate new opportunities.
- Research and track upcoming developments, construction projects, and re-roofing needs in target markets.
- Qualify leads and schedule meetings for Sales Consultants or Account Managers to advance the sales cycle.
- Maintainaccurateand up-to-date records of all activity and communication in the CRM.
- Develop andmaintaina target list of general contractors, consultants, and developers.
- Monitorconstructionbid sites and association bulletins for relevant opportunities.
- Attend networking events, industry functions, and trade shows to promote the company and generate interest.
- Collaborate with marketing to support lead generation campaigns and material development.
- Provide regular reporting and prospecting activity, pipeline growth, and market feedback.
- Assistin prequalification submissions andearly stageproposal coordination when necessary.
What You Bring
3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management within construction or commercial servicesStrong technical understanding of roofing systems and the construction processProven ability to meet and exceed revenue targets and maintain a strong, active sales pipelineExcellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skillsHighly organized with strong time management and attention to detailProficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and estimating or bid tracking toolsA self-starter with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive independentlyValid drivers license and willingness to travel for meetings, site visits, and industry eventsWhy Youll Love Working at Empire
