Job Title : Safety and Health Specialist

Job Summary :

The Safety and Health Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing workplace health and safety programs across all operations at our Montreal site. This includes our chemical production labs, injection molding lines, warehouse and logistics areas, and material handling operations involving forklifts and DG / hazardous materials. The role ensures regulatory compliance (federal, provincial, and ISO), promotes a culture of safety, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

Safety Program Management

• Develop and maintain site‑specific safety policies, procedures, and protocols in compliance with CNESST, WHMIS, TDG, and ISO standards.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with safety regulations for chemical manufacturing, hazardous materials handling, and high‑risk equipment (e.g., injection molding machines, forklifts).
• Conduct hazard assessments, job safety analyses (JSAs), and implement control measures.
• Lead regular safety inspections, risk audits, and emergency preparedness drills.
• Manage the company’s Dangerous Goods classification, labeling, and transportation processes.
• Act as lead investigator for all incidents, near misses, and injuries; track corrective actions and lessons learned.
• Maintain and analyze safety data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Monitor and document PPE usage, safety signage, lockout / tagout (LOTO), and confined space procedures.
