We are looking for the right individual, with 3-5 years carpentry experience, who will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures in commercial buildings such as office spaces, retail stores, hospitals, and warehouses.
Key Responsibilities :
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine material requirements and project specifications.
- Build, install, and repair frameworks, partitions, doors, windows, drywall, and ceilings in commercial buildings.
- Work with various materials such as wood, steel, concrete, and drywall to create structures.
- Install commercial fixtures such as cabinetry, countertops, and shelving.
- Construct and assemble temporary structures, such as scaffolding and bracing.
- Operate hand and power tools including saws, drills, and nail guns, safely and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project deadlines.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other trades to complete projects efficiently.
- Inspect and repair damaged structures and ensure safety and quality in the completed work.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas on job sites, ensuring tools and materials are stored correctly.
Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in carpentry or construction is preferred.Proven experience as a carpenter in commercial construction (7200 – 10800 hours)Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical plans, and drawings.Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment, including hand tools and power tools.Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with other trades and supervisors.Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.Preferred Qualifications :
Red Seal certification in carpentry or a related trade.Experience in metal stud framing, drywall hanging, and finish carpentry in commercial environments.Knowledge of concrete formwork and structural framing.Physical Demands :
Ability to lift heavy materials (50 lbs or more) regularly.Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.Willingness to work in various environments, including heights, tight spaces, and outdoor conditions.We Offer :
