Job Description
The (SHA) – Saskatoon and University Saskatchewan, Department of Pediatrics of the College of Medicine seek a Medical Geneticist. The successful candidate will provide specialist consultative services and will participate in developing and guiding strategies for improving the health and health care of Saskatchewan adults and children. The position provides physicians with protected time for clinical, administrative and academic duties. There is an opportunity to incorporate metabolic services into this position, based on the interests and experience of the candidate.
We provide a wide range of genetic services for both adults and children. These services include genetic assessment, testing and diagnosis, targeted analysis including cytogenetic, molecular and metabolic investigations. The program provides reproductive (including preconception and prenatal), pediatric, adult and cancer genetic counselling services.
As a team, we anticipate the impact of a specific diagnosis for the family, and educate them about the results of our investigations and possible diagnosis. We make recommendations and referrals as necessary to ensure families have access to the most appropriate medical and social services. Genetic counsellors are available for ongoing emotional support and to discuss family planning issues if necessary.

Job Qualifications
Candidates in consideration will hold certification or eligibility for certification in Medical Genetics and Genomics and be eligible for licensure with the .
