Job Overview
As a commercial and life specialist you will be responsible for new client growth and expansion of the commercial and life portfolio through outbound prospecting, client contact and sales activities. You will play a key role in identifying prospects in business markets, servicing clients, determining the risk and presenting customized insurance solutions. You will focus on deepening client relationships by providing high quality sales and service advice in commercial and living benefits insurance.
To join our team you MUST
- you have 3-5 years experience in commercial insurance sales and business development
- you have a post secondary education in the related discipline
- you hold a General insurance license (OTL)
- you hold a LLQP license (life license)
- you have or are working towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) designation
What you're responsible for
conducting inbound and outbound calls to prospect and proactively build a sales pipeline, developing marketing plans to promote insurance offerings and contribute to the achievement of sales, profitability and growth goalscompleting risk assessments and commercial inspections in accordance with underwriting guidelinesworking with clients to review goals, providing risk management advice and recommendations for coverage, completing policy updates and documenting required changesconducting policy reviews to identify changing coverage requirements, responding to client inquiries and resolving complaintsparticipating in events to create brand awareness, cultivate community contacts and maximize new businessconduct analysis of commercial clients in regards to their additional need for living benefits such as life, critical illness, disability and group insuranceTo be successful
you remain focused and optimistic in the pursuit of goals, despite barriersyou allocate time and resources to effectively manage the sales portfolioyou successfully build plans focused on expending market penetrationyou have strong communication skills to influence others to adopt a specific course of action to facilitate mutual beneficial solutionsWhat to expect
you are required to have your own vehicle, driving license and insuranceyou will travel regularlyhave direct contact with clients / service providers in their environmentextended work hours including evenings and weekends will be requiredstrict confidentiality with respect to client's personal informationyou will be subject to a Criminal Record and Consumer History background check as a condition of employment
