Responsibilities
The Business Analyst will report to the Canada Chief Data Officer. The role will be supporting data protection activities. This will involve reporting functionally to the Data Privacy & Protection Manager.
The Business analyst will drive and contribute to the team implementation of the data office framework ensuring its execution and maintenance, as well as working in close collaboration with business partners, technology, and other stakeholders.
Data Privacy
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of data privacy procedures and guidelines in line with regulatory requirements.
- Work with legal, IT, compliance, and security teams to ensure data privacy measures are integrated across all functions and that there is proper governance of personal data.
- Contribute to the maintenance of the inventory of data processing activities, ensuring proper documentation and categorization of personal data being collected, stored, or shared.
- Evaluate potential risks related to data processing activities and third-party vendor data handling and recommend mitigations to reduce exposure.
- Manage and respond to data subject access requests (DSARs) and ensure proper processes are in place to allow individuals to exercise their rights under privacy laws.
- Facilitate Privacy Impact Assessments to ensure the organization’s data processing activities meet privacy standards.
- Training and Awareness : Conduct regular privacy awareness training for employees to educate them about best practices and regulatory obligations related to data privacy.
- Prepare various reports including KPI, KRI for management and key stakeholders
Qualifications :
TRAINING AND OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from accredited universityplus years of professional experience ideally in data governance or data privacy and as a business analystPreferred experience in data management, governance, privacy, controls or process improvement.Experience preparing senior management presentations and large data setsElevated level of ability in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS
