Job Summary
The Student, Co-op within the Production Technical (Maintenance) Department participates in developing, planning, tracking and optimizing of preventive maintenance tasks, evaluation of production processes and equipment modifications.
Job Responsibilities
- Liase with Production Technical Supervisors, Project Leaders, Mechanical & Electrical Technicians, Production Technicians, Contractors and other internal stakeholders to analyse production systems and processes in order to make continuous improvements while focusing on Safety, Quality and Productivity.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to execute maintenance engineering project activities.
- Date mine equipment and production data using spreadsheets, databases along with other tools.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new process equipment.
- Participate in Installation Qualification and Operational Qualifications (IQOQ) for new and existing machinery and processes.
- Develop and update Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) as required.
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with with current Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP's), SOP's and in full compliance with Safety & Regulatory standards.
- Perform all work in support of our Corporate Values of Pride, Accountability, Integrity and Diligence and in accordance with all established regulatory, compliance and safety requirements.
- All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities and Experience
- Must be enrolled in a recognized post-secondary Co-op education program.
- Sucessful completion of third year in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- Possesses a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team player but capable of working independently on any assigned tasks.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point are essential. Familiarity with AutoCAD, MSAccess would be beneficial.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Healthcare regulatory requirements would be beneficial.
