About this opportunity :

Reporting to the Manager of the AB Thermal Department the Decision Analyst is pivotal in delivering analytical insights and decision-making support across a diverse range of thermal opportunities. The Decision Analyst will collaborate closely with Asset Development teams and build strong relationships with cross-functional partners and project stakeholders. By providing clear analysis of trade-offs and alternatives this position enables senior leaders to make informed risk-based decisions that drive strategic outcomes.

What youll do :

Integrate with project teams to provide consistent objective and appropriate economic evaluations facilitate critical thinking and ensure efficient interaction with the Capital Allocation Framework and decision / stage gate processes

Support quantitative risk assessment of business and investment decisions under uncertainty of technical and economic factors including supporting senior team members in strategic portfolio analysis and strategy planning activities

Design build utilize and ensure industry-leading evaluation models and tools to efficiently meet the needs of the business

Contribute to the overall corporate capability and community of decision-making practices by implementing decision quality crafting positive experiences with opportunity teams and improving available tools resources and training

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and promote a culture of continuous improvement and effective decision-making

Who you are :

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements :

Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Bachelors degree in Engineering Geosciences Business or Economics.

Professional Engineer registered with APEGA would be considered an asset.

5 years of experience within the Oil & Gas industry.

Programming or coding skills (e.g. Python R SQL) would be an asset.

Strong ability to craft and build sophisticated models for analysis and automation contributing to advancing team efficiency and high-quality analysis

Understanding of statistics and probabilities including their application to economic modeling (such as Monte Carlo analysis decision trees) and alternative analysis for oil and gas projects

Strong commercial business and financial skills with experience in key financial and economic metrics such as net present value rate of return and cash flow
