Job Description

This established commercial real estate company in Metro Vancouver prides itself on decades of real estate investment and development experience across western Canada.

Experiencing considerable growth, it is acquiring and expanding its investment portfolio of hotels and income-producing properties located in multiple provinces.

They are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Director of Hospitality to manage their existing hotels in Western Canada and facilitate the growth of our portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and monitoring the performance of our hotel assets, developing strategies to maximize returns, and providing guidance to their executive team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hotel and hospitality asset management, financial analysis, project management skills, and strong attention to detail.

They must also possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and act as the point of contact between ownership and hotel staff, franchisors, customer groups, consultants, and government authorities.

The salary will be $,+ bonus.

DESCRIPTION

Manage and lead the on-site hotel managers. Regularly inspect the hotels and conduct meetings with on-site GMs and department heads.

Conduct annual reviews of key hotel staff.

  • Monitor portfolio performance and proactively adjust strategies as needed.
  • Own the outcome for all assets under management and prepare monthly reports to the senior management and ownership group.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends to identify opportunities to maximize cash flow and profits.
  • Create and implement Revenue Management strategies : Regularly set pricing for all business segments and room types. Utilize revenue management tools and work with GMs to effectively manage room inventory and push marketing efforts.

Attend required revenue management meetings organized by franchisors.

  • Research and evaluate potential competition and threats in the market. Monitor the RevPAR index on STR report.
  • Create, set, and achieve Budgets, including Capital Expense requirements. Conduct financial analysis as needed.
  • Manage all communication and negotiations with Franchises, including audits, brand standards, PIP, conference attendances etc.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of brand standards and attend related conferences / meetings.
  • Regularly monitor the physical conditions of each building and make recommendations on repair & maintenance projects as appropriate.
  • Monitor purchases, review and research vendor quotes and provide recommendations if appropriate.
  • Conduct due diligence and handover process for new asset acquisitions.
  • Act as project lead for renovation and Property Improvement Plan initiatives.
  • Liaise with the accounting team for accurate bookkeeping and invoice approvals.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

Relevant degree or diploma in hotel management preferred.

Experience & Skills

  • Hotel General Manager : must have a minimum of 3 years experience
  • Hotel Asset Manager : must have a minimum of 3 years experience
  • Experience with Hotel Franchises (Marriott, Choice, Hilton, etc.) will be beneficial
  • Completion of the Marriott Executive Excellence Course will be beneficial.
  • Certified Revenue Management Executive certification (CRME Or Equivalent) will be beneficial.
