Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking an Junior Accountant for our client in Langley. Our client has deep roots in the community and has built an excellent reputation.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the J unior Accountant will play a crucial role in facilitating our ongoing growth.
This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including overseeing daily accounting and finance tasks, as well as handling office administration duties.
Responsibilities :
- Calculating, preparing, and issuing various accounting documents such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements, and financial statements using both computerized and manual systems.
- Coding, totaling, batching, entering, verifying, and reconciling transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements in the accounting system.
- Compiling budget data and documents based on estimated revenues, expenses, and previous budgets.
- Preparing period or cost statements and reports.
- Calculating costs of materials, overhead, and other expenses using estimates, quotations, and price lists.
- Responding to customer inquiries, maintaining excellent customer relations, and resolving problems effectively.
- Performing related clerical duties, including word processing, filing, and record-keeping.
- Assisting Finance team members and the Office Administrator with the month-end close and other ad-hoc projects. Qualifications :
- Proven accounting experience in bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
- A diploma or relevant certification in accounting or finance. A combination of education and experience will also be considered.
- Knowledge of accounting software such as Sage300 CRE is an asset, along with strong working knowledge of Excel.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Quick learning ability, strong organizational skills, and the capacity to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Impeccable accuracy and a keen eye for detail.
- A willingness to learn and an eagerness to bring a fresh perspective to the team.
