The Product Manager – Tablets and PCs is responsible for end to end category management of new product launches for Samsung’s Mobile Computing Portfolio. Responsibilities include helping shape product portfolio from gathering of consumer insights and category knowledge through product inception and development process, then driving all go to market activities such as schedule, packaging design and demand generation activities required to bring a new product to market.

Role and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a SME for product development and life cycle.

  • Play key role in development of future Tablet and PC products for Canadian market and positioning those products to key customers.

  • Responsible for product lifecycle management, including but not limited to; price setup, margin setting, promotions, EOL product transitions.

  • Create, maintain and update value proposition, positioning and competitive comparison documents.

  • Work with team to understand addressable market size and create strategies to achieve sales and overall market share targets for the portfolio.

  • Work with Account teams to ensure sell in of new products Formulate GTM strategies for all new products and execute /project manage launch operations.

  • Works cross functionally with HQ teams in Korea and Canada Operations to manage all aspects of product launches including launch timeline management, sample management, reporting, SKU setup, and tracking testing schedules.

  • Work with Marketing and Account teams on product positioning leveraging marketing playbooks/assets, retail displays/assets.

  • Communicates project status to the product planning, installation, and logistics teams to ensure fulfillment of contractual commitments. Reviews user manuals and documentation to maintain accuracy and consistency.

  • Lead interactions with HQ around planning of future product as well as communication with key accounts to secure sell-in of newly developed Tablets and PCs.

  • Work closely with the Supply Chain, Sales, Service, Finance and HQ teams to socialize and execute on Product portfolio requirements and sales targets.

Skills and Qualifications

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated analytical skills – forecasting, operations, market research

  • Advanced knowledge of company systems and processes – especially SCM, marketing, pricing, forecasting

  • Product knowledge – PC and Tablet

  • Mid to advanced level spreadsheet skills

  • Mid to advanced level PowerPoint skills

  • Industry knowledge: Mobility, Information Technology

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other MS Office applications

  • The ability to plan, organize, collaborate on and measure the effectiveness and results of all programs and projects as required

  • The ability to negotiate with and internal stakeholders on marketing proposals and plans

  • Ability to motivate and guide the activities to manage product sales performance with the sales team

  • The ability to develop tasks, to ensure process compliance

  • Ability to manage budgets and determine ROI

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years working in a Product Manager role preferred

  • Wireless Industry background is required

The salary range for this role is expected to be between $90,000 to $125,000 and reflects base salary only. Actual pay will be determined based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, competencies, qualifications, relevant skills and experience.

The total rewards package for a Regular Full-Time employee may include a variable incentive, savings matching (RRSP/TFSA/NRSP), extended health and dental benefits with spending accounts, wellness and well-being benefits, development opportunities, and other employee perks.
