Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Mississauga, Ontario
Salary: $120,000-$150,000 (based on experience)
ABOUT:
Our client is a Canadian-owned and operated engineering consulting firm specialized in geotechnical and environmental consultation and project management.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITES:
You will use your knowledge, skill and expertise in working with a wide variety of soil, and earthwork related projects, completing a comprehensive range of tasks. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Manage and lead geotechnical projects including planning, budgeting, scheduling and resource allocation.
- Conduct site investigations, field surveys, geotechnical assessments and site assessments.
- Perform geotechnical analysis and engineering calculations.
- Design foundation systems, retaining structures, and slope stabilization measures.
- Review and interpret Geotechnical data, laboratory test results and environmental impact assessments.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers, technicians, and field staff, and provide guidance on technical matters and professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Certified Professional Engineer.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record of managing projects and delivering successful outcomes.
- Strong proficiency in geotechnical analysis software such as gINT, Plaxis, GeoStudio.
- In-depth knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, slope stability analysis, and geotechnical design principles.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, regulations, and best practices in geotechnical engineering.
