The manager reiterated the following points :
- He s looking for a good, solid network engineer with network design experience and who has worked at an enterprise. Not just network monitoring or operations. Wants the design engineering work as well.
- He d like someone who has public cloud experience from a network perspective (network connectivity, enabling connectivity to cloud, migrating applications to cloud).
- He wants to see what they ve done in those areas and that they can demonstrate experience in those areas at an enterprise-level
We are looking for the following :
Network Engineer with experience leading network engineering projects, gathering requirements, developing network designs.Experience with routing, switching and datacenter networking.Experience with enabling network connectivity to public cloud at an enterprise company.Experience with public cloud networking design and network capabilities.Some Cisco certification is required, but I would say CCIE is desirable.Hands on Experience (from a network / connectivity perspective) with at least one of the big public cloud providers (AWS / Azure / Google) is required.Things to avoid :
Candidates that only have experience working on Public Cloud at home as part of pursuing a Certification.
Candidates focused on Network Operations monitoring, and no experience with project design work.
Position Description :
The selected candidate will be part of the ENS Cloud Network Engineering team that will evaluate, design and document networking solution for public, private and hybrid cloud infrastructure for the firm. The candidate will collaborate with other infrastructure teams to implement the solution. The role resource will also provide all the technical guidance, design specification and solution level support to the operation team for the cloud connectivity, integration and application migration.
Responsibilities :
Act as a lead network engineer in cloud WAN and cloud DMZ design, migration process and develop target state and transition state design for cloud adoption and migration. Ensure full network availability and security during and after migration is completed.Build CICD pipeline for Infrastructure as a Code and Network as a Code, based on Ansible, Terraform, AWS cloudformation and Azure Resource Manager templateCollaborate with other technical teams atto deliver product and solution level support.Deliver Network Design Document based on the requirements and best practices.Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, while working with diverse audiences including highly skilled IT professionals and senior management.Qualifications :
at least 15 years of experience in Enterprise Networking, DC design.4 + years of experience with Cloud PaaS and / or IaaS (Google, Azure, AWS).Knowledge of IaC : Ansible, Terraform, AWS Cloudformation, Azure RM template.Deep technical knowledge of Networking technologies such as TCP / IP, BGP, OSPF, VxLAN, Multicast, WAN, DMZ Infrastructure.Hands on experience managing MPLS, MPBGP.Solid understanding of client / server, networking and Internet technologies.Knowledge of DMVPN, IPSEC and Encryption Standards, Network Security.Skills Required :
Knowledge on Cloud Networking and Security best practices; Public (Google, AWS, Azure) and Private (Kubernetes) Cloud Technologies is desirable.Knowledge of AWS and Azure architectural principles and key networking services such as Google Global VPC Design, Cloud Router, NCC, Interconnect; AWS Global infrastructure, VPC, S3, EC2, Route 53, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect; MS Azure VNet, VNet-Peering, Private Link, vWAN, Express Route, Firewall, Load Balancer.Experience with Kubernetes / Openshift; Knowledge of Calico CNI is a plus.Practitioner-level network automation skills using DevOps and CI / CD pipeline practices : Python or Shell Scripting, YAML etc.; IP Routing Platforms (ISRG2, ASR1K, CSR1k, ASR 9k); Switching Platforms (Arista 7K, Cisco Nexus 9000).CCNP / CCIE certification required.Skills Desired :
