Excel Personnel has been retained by our client to provide temporary Medical Office Assistance to our Medical Clients in Prince George. This will be approximately a year duration commencing on June 3, 2024.
Excel will be completing all on boarding and will complete international and national criminal record and social media searches on all candidates.
Position :
- Medical Office Assistant Locum x 3
- 35 - 40 hours per week in various offices
- Commencing June 3, 2024 - April 30, 2025
Will Report to : Medical Office Assistant Locum Manager
Key Responsibilities & Functions at our Client Facilities in Prince George
As each office will have duties that will vary, responsibilities may include :
Coordinate patient care through the clinic – checking in, prepping, escorting to exam rooms,and preparing exam or treatment rooms for the next patient.Answer enquiries by phone and in person in a helpful, respectful, and efficient manner.Operate fax machines.Maintain appointment schedule and manage recalls.Maintain electronic medical records, including the patient chart.Ensure exam rooms are stocked appropriately and ensure that they are ready for the next patient.Ensure patient confidentiality.Clean and sterilize materials and instruments.Perform patient prep procedures and documents findings on the patient record.Perform billing procedures for multiple payers (MSP, ICBC, WCB, etc.) and applies and collect non-insured fees where applicable.Order and receive kitchen, office, and medical supplies.Perform all other related clinical, administrative tasks or special tasks as required.Key Responsibilities & Functions at our clients Prince George Facilities
Support Attachment Mechanism Coordinator with the following :
Attachment system maintenanceLiaise between Health Connect Registry (HCR) and primary care providers who are accepting patients.Ensure HCR administrative interface has accurate, complete patient information.Provide general administrative support for our client locations.Other duties as assigned.Required Skills and Abilities
Works well in a team environment.Works effectively in a challenging environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Efficiency, accuracy, problem solving, and good judgement.Effective relationship building skills.Proficiency with typical office equipment including fax machines, telephone switchboards and computers.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.Valid BC Drivers LicenseOwn transportationRequired Clinical Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of medical terminologyKnowledge of Electronic Medical Record Systems (i.e., MOIS) is an asset.Ability to prepare patients and set up exam rooms for complete physicals, including pap set up.Ability to prepare child patients for the well child exam.Ability to accurately measure patient height and weights (including infants) and take blood pressure.Ability to operate an autoclave.CPR Level AImportant Note : Only candidates eligible to work in Canada and residing in Kamloops, BC, will be considered for this exciting opportunity.
