• Partner’s discountsMajor Responsibilities :
• Remove,replace or adjust the following with some supervision : brakes (airand hydraulic), fifth wheel, minor electrical repairs, cabcomponents and accessories, minor trailer maintenance such asdoors, wheel seals, etc.
• Perform all aspects of preventivemaintenance on vehicles as trained
• Perform other mechanicalrepairs and replacements as directed / assisted by Technician I, II,-Lead Technician or Supervisor as part of overall training
• Allcustomer service duties as necessary
• Pick up and delivery ofvehicles
• Maintain work area appearance and safety
• Use hand toolssuch as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, andprecision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumaticwrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
• Perform routinemaintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, andlubricating equipment and machinery.
• Adjust and replace brakes,tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.
• Raise trucks,buses, and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks orhoists
• Other duties and tasks as assigned bysupervisorQualifications :
• 1-2 year’s practical experience withvehicle repair or truck repair preferred
• High school diploma orequivalent required
• Vocational / Technical or certificationpreferred
• Must be currently enrolled in an apprentice program
• Must maintain membership / registration with respective GovernmentAgencies
• Working knowledge in the use of hand tools required
• Current driver's license class G or class 5 and the ability toobtain class DZ it within 6 months of been hired required
• Basiccomputer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems.
• Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions required
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function ofthe job
