Financial Analyst - Entry Level

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role is based in Toronto, Ontario, and offers a hybrid work schedule with two days in the office and three days working from home. Ideal for recent graduates or professionals with 1-3 years of experience, this position provides an excellent opportunity to develop foundational skills in financial management and risk analysis.

Responsibilities :

• Provide support to team members by clarifying financial processes and addressing inquiries as needed.
• Assist in managing financial and risk-related tasks, including corporate risk, financial risk, and legal risk assessments.
• Utilize accounting software systems and tools, such as Crystal Reports and data mining techniques, to analyze and report financial data.
• Ensure compliance with AML (Anti-Money Laundering), KYC (Know Your Customer), and EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence) standards.
• Participate in the preparation and review of budgets, accrual accounting, and financial auditing processes.
• Work collaboratively with team members to deliver accurate and timely financial reports.
• Offer exceptional customer service when addressing client or team-related queries.
• Support weekend schedules, if required, to ensure consistent financial operations.
• Engage in training sessions to develop a strong understanding of internal tools and processes.
• Assist in coordinating and monitoring risk management activities across various departments.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of detail-oriented experience, with preference given to candidates with co-op or banking experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software systems, data analysis, and reporting tools.
• Familiarity with compliance standards such as AML, KYC, and EDD is highly desirable.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
• Willingness to support weekend schedules if required.
