As a Property Inspector you will be responsible for conducting property inspections within established guidelines and following inspection standards, updating the risk and providing a report which will aid in risk selection and establishment of the right rate for the risk. This role supports underwriting programs and profitability initiative.

How you will create impact :

  • Contacting clients to schedule appointments for property inspections virtually along with organizing and planning inspections for the assigned locations and monitoring, tracking, and reporting inspection activity.
  • Collecting risk details through reviewing policies, identifying, and documenting dwelling features, collect missing or update outdated information as well as liability hazards when inspecting homes virtually.
  • Processing risk details by following guidelines and documented procedures in the course of assigned duties and completing required reports, changes, and documentation utilizing company systems and programs.
  • Work with internal stakeholders.
  • Draft critical recommendations letters and make recommendations / suggestions regarding the risk.
  • Review vendor inspection reports for accuracy and process complete required system changes and documentation as per established processes and guidelines.

  • To join our team :

  • You have 1-2 years of habitational experience in the insurance industry or a related field.
  • You have a post-secondary education.
  • Strong communication, time management, problem solving and attention to detail skills.
  • Works well independently
  • General P&C knowledge, specifically for home / property insurance
  • Strong client service skills and ability to ask detailed questions and obtain information specific to the insured asset.
  • Basic underwriting skills to identify risks and take appropriate action to escalate.
  • What you need to know :

    Extended work hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required.

    This role operates in a contact centre environment where a high level of audio and visual concentration is required for periods of time.

    You will be subject to a Criminal Record and Consumer History background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.

    Expected Salary Range : $41,250 $68,750

  • The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to : local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education. Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and / or business performance, or other business metrics
