Responsibilities

Prepare, format, and proofread a variety of legal documents including pleadings, affidavits, and correspondence

File court documents electronically and in person (as needed) across various BC court levels

Manage calendars, schedule hearings, trials, and meetings

Maintain and organize both digital and physical litigation files

Communicate with clients, court registries, and opposing counsel in a professional and timely manner

Assist lawyers with trial preparation, including document binding and court materials

Track deadlines, limitation periods, and monitor case progress

Qualifications

2+ years of experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant in a BC law firm

Legal Administrative Assistant certificate or diploma from an accredited institution

Familiarity with BC Supreme and Provincial Court rules and procedures

Proficiency with PC Law and Worldox, as well as MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision

Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills

Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
