Job description

Job Summary

The IT Tech Hub Assistant provides immediate support to clients during the core hours of operation, ensures adherence to corporate standards for asset control with regard to hardware provisioning and continuous development of processes and performance benchmarks, in order to maintain and improve technology usage and client services. Other duties include one-to-one support of staff for computers, mobile devices, A / V services and for on-the-spot repairs for peripherals, PCs and other devices.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under the general direction of the Supervisor, IT Departmental Support, the successful candidate will :
  • Assist clients with desktop computer problems as assigned by Supervisor of IT Departmental Support
  • Responding to questions, assisting clients, taking ownership of problems referred directly or by the IT Service Desk.
  • Working in a team environment to resolve problems to the satisfaction of the client, updating support documentation, troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
  • Assist IT Technicians with the Life Cycle maintenance of IT Assets.
  • Dispose equipment under the direction of Supervisor of IT Departmental Support.
  • Limited Active Directory rights (Password reset / join to Domain ONLY)
  • No access to delete from domain. Remote Control Access.
  • Perform other duties as required under the direction of Supervisor of IT Departmental Support
  • Evening and Weekend work may be required to provide extended business hours support.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Graduated or completing a College / University program in Information Technology.
  • Working knowledge of automated inventory control systems (Microsoft SCCM, ServiceNow, Active Directory reports, Virtual Environments) is an asset.
  • Must possess excellent communication, organization, and administrative skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of software including Microsoft Windows, Office Suite, Adobe etc.
  • Familiarity with desktop computer operating system, utilities and business application software is an asset.
  • Hourly Rate / Salary :  $ 32.39 - $ 43.18
