Status : Regular Part-Time (RPT)
Hours : 24 hours per week
Faculty / Department : Faculty of Health Sciences & Wellness Child Development Centre
Campus / Location : North Campus
Salary : EPEW Band 3 : $ - $
What you will do :
Under the direction of the Director, Humber Child Development Centre, the incumbent is responsible for supporting and assisting the Full Time Cook / Dietician with the ongoing daily operation of the Centre's kitchen and follows the Health and Safety practices and procedures in accordance with established guidelines set out in the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) 2014, Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI) 2014, Toronto Public Health (TPH), Fire Regulations, and Humber’s Early Childhood Education Department within the School of Health Sciences and Wellness.
The Assistant Cook assists with the planning, preparation, cooking, and distribution of well balanced and nutritious meals that are in accordance with all dietary, developmental, medical, and religious restrictions and limitations of the children.
Qualifications
What you bring to the role :
Education :
1 year certificate or equivalent and Food Handler’s Certificate
Experience / Skills :
- One (1) year of related work experience required with a preference for experience in a Child Care / Group setting.
- Experience in menu planning, implementation, and ordering bulk food items / supplies.
- Experience in organizing and maintaining a sanitary / hygienic commercial kitchen.
Requirements :
This position requires a cleared Police Vulnerable Sector Check, successful completion of medical and X-Ray and Food Handlers Certificate as issued by Toronto Public Health (can be supplied after hire by the agency if needed) and current CPR / First Aid Training.
