OVERVIEW

A non-profit, charitable organization that delivers programs and services for women and their children and all those impacted by abuse and / or homelessness in southwestern Ontario.

MISSION

The Manager of Programs and Outreach will assist the Executive Director in leading the organization in supporting the strategic objectives and agency priorities!

PRIORTIES

Strategic Leadership

  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to lead, drive change, and influence people to ensure we exceed the expectations of all stakeholders, aligned with the vision of the organization.
  • Support and partner with the Executive Director in participating in the strategic planning process and fostering ownership and buy-in from all internal and external stakeholders, under the direction of the Board.
  • Oversee and support staff in direct service to ensure smooth operations of programs, services, referrals, and transitional plans.
  • Develop staff, finances, and physical resources to implement policies and programs to ensure best practices and delivery of quality services to women in support.
  • Develop and explore the improvement of supports and services, including the evaluation and feasibility of clinical, mental health, addictions, etc.

through internal and external partnerships.

VAW Community Outreach

  • Oversee and support a Community Development Coordinator to liaise with agencies, groups, and workplaces in the community with the aim to educate the community about issues within Violence Against Women.
  • Motivate, inspire, and assist in building an innovative, agile, and responsive system response which are aligned with the strategic priorities.
  • Provide support to advisory committees and partner agencies with service opportunities.
  • Attend and support meetings and events.
  • Develop and deliver community-based education on topics relevant to the strategic plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

TALENTS & EXPERTISE

  • Bachelor’s Degree and / or Master’s Degree in Social Work, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience in managing a community-based organization with knowledge of serving vulnerable and marginalized populations, including violence against women and children, homelessness, and housing sectors.
  • Professional business or management training with evident clinical affinity in psychology, social work, or related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management and budgeting experience of a multi-funded budget.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage key relationships and collaborative initiatives with community partners.
  • Skills in program planning, design, and evaluation, risk management, and quality improvement.
  • Thorough knowledge of legislation and standards relevant to the agency’s mandate.
  • Problem solver, with a keen sense of understanding the big picture.
  • Valid driver’s licence and $2M in liability insurance.
  • Current police / CPIC / Vulnerable Sectors check.
