Your Day-to-Day :
- Join a team of engineers dedicated to safely licensing nuclear power plants around the globe
- Develop expertise in the design, construction, operation, and decommissioning of nuclear power plants.
- Learn skills necessary to license traditional commercial power plants as well as advanced reactors
- Create licensing and technical submittals for utilities and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.
- Work in teams to resolve critical issues impacting the construction and operation of nuclear power plants.
As an Electrical Intern, at our Burlington, Ontario facility, you will work on a variety of technical and engineering assignments including design, drafting, and implementation of electrical, instrumentation and controls projects (Capital, Expense, Development) under the guidance of engineers. Starting Fall 2024.
Your Key Responsibilities / Qualifications
Design and optimization of control systems and software related to electrical and mechanical systemsIdentify suppliers of electro-mechanical componentsDevelop electrical schematics and detailed manufacturing drawings per the Westinghouse Quality ManualDevelop software and related documentation (as applicable)Support electrical and / or mechanical assembly of developed systemsSupport the development of component specifications and purchasing requestsInterface with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly.Assist with the development of test procedures for systems to ensure compliance with design specificationsAssist with the operation of the final tooling system in the customer facilitiesWho you are :
Electrical engineering or mechatronics engineering degree eligibilityStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent problem solving and time management skillsStrong mechanical / electrical aptitude and knowledgeKnowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and softwareSelf-motivated and highly organizedProficient in AutoCAD ElectricalA background with practical skills developed through jobs, school teams or personal interest are highly valued.You will also have the opportunity to take part in the Westinghouse Culture and as an intern take part in specific events such as :
