Your new role
As the Project Manager, you will work alongside other people in the construction department focused on retail and Oil & Gas construction. Juggling up to 4 projects at a time in multiple locations in Ottawa, the Valley and SW Ontario, you will manage construction and renovation projects, you will focus on man aging and coordinating projects, both big and small, to ensure they are completed on schedule and on budget.
Additionally, you will develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility. Working in collaboration with outside professionals, contractors, and tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects. You will ensure all required licenses, permits, and approvals are obtained, minimizing the necessity for delays, fines, penalties, or re-work. By developing a detailed project plan to track progress, using appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in the project’s scope, schedule, or costs.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this very important role, you should have at least 5–7 years of new build construction experience, ideally in Retail, Oil & Gas industry, projects up to about $2M. Your post-secondary education should be in Construction, Engineering or Project Management. You should have Civil construction experience to enable you to understand the underground aspect of these projects. AutoCAD and Bluebeam is a definite asset.
