The EMS programs (Primary andAdvanced Care Paramedic) have an opening for apermanent full-time salaried instructor (1.0 FTE). A candidate for this position should be anenergetic leader of students, have well developed communication, interpersonaland organizational skills, be committed to student motivation and achievement,work independently within established policies, be dedicated to a servicemodel, and work cooperatively as a team member.
KeyResponsibilities :
Prepare and present learning outcomes and activitiesin a classroom, lab and / or clinical setting (in both the Primary and AdvancedCare Paramedic programs)
Manage instructional delivery and set the tone andclimate for a safe and effective learning environment
Evaluate the learning process
Provide early and on-going coaching and tutoring forstudents to maximize student success and retention
Respond to student issues
Utilize appropriate educational technology forpresentations, communications and program promotions
Maintain professional and ethical relationships withstudents and colleagues
Actively participate in business plan objectives asidentified by the institute
Utilize regular student feedback to identify andimplement instructional improvement
Improve the quality of instruction throughprofessional development activities
Other duties as assigned
Some weekend and evening hours may apply to someassignments
Qualifications :
Graduation from a recognized Advanced Care Paramedic program,with preference given to graduates of CMA accredited programs
Registered with The Alberta College of Paramedics witha minimum of 5 years Advanced Care Paramedic field experience
Basic computer literacy is required, as well asexcellent written and oral communication skills
Instructor certification in ACLS, ITLS (advanced),PALS and NRP is an asset
Coordination certification in the above noted is anasset
Experience in delivery of adult education is an asset
Applicants witheducation credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentialsevaluated by World Education Services or the International QualificationsAssessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration : $ 64,994.80- $ 113,063.86 annually, plus a comprehensivebenefits package (Classification – Instructor).
Will commensurate with education andexperience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
Instructor salary grid $65,218.00 - $113,452.00annually. However, starting salary for new hires averages between $78,998.00 - $85,889.00annually based on education and experience with room for negotiations. (Classification– Instructor).
Thisposition is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) CollectiveAgreement
