Hamilton
Live close enough to Auckland to take advantage of its cultural diversity and happenings without having to deal with the Auckland traffic and high cost of housing where Hamilton is a secret that is now being discovered by many.
Position
Waikato Radiology is going through some exciting changes. They have a newly rebuilt state of the art facility with modern equipment, are growing
the service to meet demand and are focussed on creating and maintaining a welcoming and flexible work environment for all their staff.
They are growing a vibrant team of 23FTE Consultant Radiologists and 9 Registrars who have well established links into all speciality and subspecialty clinical teams across the Waikato District Health Board including providing imaging support for a Level 1 Major Trauma Centre.
They are looking to grow the team with particular interest in sub specialities in Paediatrics, Neuro, Nuclear Medicine dual training, Interventional Radiology and cardio thoracic sub-speciality training.
The scope of cases and the pathology is incredible with an interesting and varied case mix. Unique infections, rheumatic fever, indigenous health, rural health through to quad bike injuries Waikato has it all and what some practitioners from other locations might only read about.
Waikato Hospital is one of New Zealand’s largest teaching hospitals where opportunities to become involved in teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate levels, or even explore fellowship specialities are all possible.
Some radiologists call Hamilton New Zealand’s best kept secret, situated in the North Island of New Zealand along the banks of the mighty Waikato River.
New Zealand is one of the top 10 safest countries in the world and living in the Waikato gives you the opportunity to have the perfect work / life balance no matter what you’re into.
With a population of 150,200 in a region of more than 846,000 people and secondary services to a local district of around 390,000 we have surf, sand and snow a short-drive away, world class facilities for all from sport to entertainment, outdoor
adventure and world-leading rural, public and private schooling for all ages why wouldn’t you consider applying?
