Join our team :

TELUS Health Care Centres is looking for a Medical Director to join our dynamic and expanding team. In this position you will flex between provision of direct medical care to patients and leadership responsibilities.

LFP & Preventative (4 days / wk)

  • Provide longitudinal primary care on a small panel (Half Day)

Compensation : Direct 80 / 20, Indirect & Panel 100%

  • Provide preventative and wellness assessments (Half Day)

    • Compensation : $300 / hr

    Medical Director Duties (1 day / wk)

  • Provide Medical Leadership to the clinic

    • Compensation : $350 / hr

    What you'll do in this role :

    Working closely with the Care Centres manager, your role as the clinical leader is critical for positive collaboration across the healthcare team and excellence in medical care. You will couple your natural inclination for health innovation with a deep social purpose to improve the lives of Canadians through our preventive health approach.

  • Responsible for the provision of clinical care to the population of patients seen in the clinic
  • Manage physician team : Listen to and engage your team, provide leadership, support and guidance on performance, development and career growth
  • Provide senior medical administrative leadership and decision-making in relation to professional and medical matters
  • Identify emerging issues & ensure compliance with ethical standards, provincial and federal legislation, College Practice Guidelines
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of the physician roster and scheduling plan
  • Engage at the national leadership level on new service launches and innovation

    • You're the missing piece of the puzzle :

    Seasoned medical practitioner with 10 years’ experience within the healthcare sector, with five years of team management

  • You are an inspirational leader with proven ability to inspire, motivate and support the development of team members to achieve excellence in the goals of the individual, our team and our customers.
  • You are able to leverage an active network and relationships to influence others
  • You are a proven strategic thinker and foster collaboration, innovation and creativity in every aspect of your work
  • You are an excellent problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced ever-changing environment
  • Family physician licensed to practice in the province of British Columbia
  • Medical liability insurance coverage through Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
  • You are comfortable with using an EMR and workplace technology

  • Experience in private health care delivery would be considered an asset
