What You Will Do
The Junior Claims Adjuster, Accident Benefits is responsible for oversight and handling of automobile, long haul trucking, motorcycle, and recreational vehicle Accident Benefits claims. The claims are of low to moderate complexity and severity. The successful candidate will have a dynamic personality and the ability to excel in a high performance environment. The Junior Claims Adjuster, Accident Benefits ensures claims are properly investigated, evaluated, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Telephone contact to obtain details of claim and injuries
- Ongoing processing and assessing new claims, detailed and thorough investigation, needs analysis, entitlement to benefits, facilitation of coverage and delivery of superior customer service
- Establish priority of Insurers / Loss Transfer / WSIB
- Effectively guide and assist the insured through the claim process, in order to achieve service excellence and successful file resolution
- Ensure immediate and effective responses are provided through written / telephone communication to the following; (lawyers, clients,doctors,rehabilitation facilities and service providers
- Responsible for benefit payments (as per legislation)
- Obtain approval from Manager on claims above authority
Who You Are
Post-secondary education or equivalent experienceCIP or working towards designationMinimum of 2 years experience handling casualty claims requiredStrong organizational; decision making and problem solving skillsetAbility to understand insurance contracts in various jurisdictionsKnowledge of principles and practices of claims settlement, policy wording, fraud investigations and coverage issuesAbility to cross-reference information with attention to detailStrong general computer knowledge requiredExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalWhat’s In It For You
